KPMG Governance, Risk Controls Advisory is a specialist Consulting Team dedicated to driving commercial outcomes through viewing risk management as a lever for enhancing innovation, reputation and sustainable growth. We partner with some of the Tier 1 Organisations in the country both publicly and privately listed. We are currently looking for Senior Consultants and Managers across all our offices including Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Your Opportunity – Senior Consultant

As a Senior Consultant within the GRCA team you will be playing a lead role in scoping, execution and delivery of a wide range of risk advisory projects. You’ll be consulting with clients on how best to establish Governance, Business Process Controls and assist them in measuring business performance through the appropriate channels.

You’ll be joining an intelligent team of diverse professionals and a highly collaborative environment where you will view risk management as an enabler for businesses to gain competitive advantage in their respective fields. This will typically involve design and implementation of risk management practices through a cost-effective and business-wide approach. This is how you will be contributing as a Senior Consultant.

  • Design: Reviewing risks with associated processes, controls, frameworks and functions including gap analysis, design, operation and outputs.
  • Execution and Reporting: Delivery of targeted programs of work to provide assurance over specific risks and controls management.
  • Assessment: Conducting independent assessments on an array of projects and clients, partnering with other KPMG teams as appropriate.
  • Measurement of business performance, communication to stakeholders in a variety of mediums i.e. in person, formal reports and steer group meetings.
  • Coaching stakeholders and leaders on best practice risk management methodology and driving a culture of high performance and ethical business practices.
  • Leading junior team members on a day to day basis, mentoring and professional development.
  • Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, identifying opportunities for future business.

Your Opportunity – Manager

As a Manager within the GRCA team you will be responsible for the day to day running of client engagement, playing a project management-like role in delivery of engagements. You’ll be the SME and point of contact for general queries and escalations, stepping in when required to gather more information or provide guidance as a Senior Risk Professional.

Internally you’ll be working with the leadership group to ensure that delivery is optimised, commercial targets are on track and business development opportunities are identified. On the client-side you’ll be involved in presentations, consulting work and have responsibility for managing your team. This is how you will be contributing as a Manager.

  • Design: Reviewing risks, with associated process, controls, frameworks and functions including gap analysis, design, operation and outputs.
  • Execution and Reporting: Delivery of targeted programs of work to provide assurance over specific risks and controls management.
  • Assessment: Conducting independent assessments on an array of projects and clients, partnering with other KPMG teams as appropriate.
  • Managing internal team budgets, deliverables and engagements.
  • Coaching Senior Leadership on best practice risk management methodology while driving a culture of high performance and ethical business practices.
  • Presenting findings and reports to Senior Leadership both client-facing and internal.
  • Identifying opportunities for business development and revenue generation.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, ensuring that service deliverables are being met and exceeded where possible.

Key Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications ideally having or working towards a CA/CPA/CIA equivalent post-tertiary qualification.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written, able to articulate examples of dealing with difficult stakeholders, problem solving, process improvements.
  • High level of organisation and ability to manage conflicting deadlines, priorities and wide variety of work engagements.
  • Ability to quickly build strong relationships and network with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external.
